This Privacy Policy applies to the site accessible from www.piratefm.co.uk ("Site") and data we receive from you via this Site or by another means. By using the Site, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information by PIRATE FM, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. At PIRATE FM, your privacy is greatly respected and it is our intention to keep this privacy fully protected whilst you are online. We want our Site to be as relevant and entertaining as possible and so to help us maintain this, it may help us if we learn more about you, the end user. You have a right to know what happens with this information and how we use it to maintain the quality and interest of the Site. That is precisely what this policy will reveal/provide.

2. Please note that it may be necessary for us to amend this policy occasionally. In the event of this happening, details will be displayed on the Site so that you are kept up to date with our use of your information. 6. On our Site you can register yourself to use the MEMBERS AREA. The types of personal information you provide to us on these pages may include name,  e-mail address, User IDs and passwords. On becoming a member, you agree to receive a PIRATE FM newsletter. The frequency of this is for PIRATE FM to change without notice. 7. Below are more details about the information that PIRATE FM gathers from you and how we use it.

7.1 Email Newsletters. PIRATE FM offers email newsletters. Only registered users of our Site will be able to receive newsletters. We will use your email address only to send you the newsletter(s) that you have signed up for. As a policy, we do not rent, sell, or in any way share our newsletter subscriber lists with third parties, but we may send notices to the registered users of our Site on behalf of third parties and our newsletters may contain advertisements from PIRATE FM's sponsors and/or advertisers.

7.2 Email Updates to Members . PIRATE FM will periodically send service email updates announcing special offers and new features to registered users. If you want to stop receiving our email service announcements, please email webmaster@piratefm.co.uk.

7.3 Promotions. We may ask you for Personally Identifiable Information at other times, including but not limited to, when you enter sweepstakes, contests or promotions sponsored by a third party. If you choose to enter sweepstakes, contests or promotions of this nature, we may share your Personally Identifiable Information with third parties so they can contact you in relation to the relevant promotion. The third party may use that information to send you advertisements or other notices, and it is possible that your information may be shared with others.

7.4 Surveys and User Research. PIRATE FM conducts email and web-delivered surveys from time to time, as well as instant polls, to gather information about our audience. It is important to remember that taking these surveys and polls is entirely optional. You have no obligation to respond to them. We share only the aggregate results of these surveys, not individual data, with our advertisers and partners to help them better understand our services and monitor the reach of their advertising on our service. We have to provide you with a readable copy of the personal data, which we keep about you, within 40 days of receiving your valid written request. The Act allows us to charge a fee of £10 for this service. Evidence or proof of your identity (for example, a passport or driver's licence and current utility bills) will be required. It is both in your and our interest to hold accurate data. If the data we hold on you is inaccurate in any way, where appropriate, you may have the data:

COMPETITION RULES

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (General Contest Rules) shall be binding on you (and your guests where applicable) when entering any competitions operated by Pirate FM, its sponsor or any company or website owned or controlled by Pirate FM.

These General Contest Rules apply to all Pirate FM contestants. Pirate FM may amend them from time to time. Special Terms and Conditions may apply to particular contests, in which case an addendum to these General Contest Rules will be made.

No purchase or payment is necessary to enter a Pirate FM competition and copies of Contest Rules are available on request from Pirate FM.

Entry and participation in any competition shall be deemed an unconditional acceptance by you of these Terms. All entry instructions and any other specific details relating to the competition or the prizes form part of these Terms.

You must pass a copy of these Terms to your guests (if applicable) and ensure they comply with them.

2. Eligibility

You must be ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom. Employees of Pirate FM, their families, press, agencies or any persons directly or indirectly connected with the competition are not eligible to enter any competition.

Unless otherwise specified, no person may enter a competition more than once.

You may not enter a competition if, on the date it is announced, you have won a prize valued at £30 or more in the previous 30 days, or valued at £500 or more in the previous 90 days, or valued at £5,000 or more in the previous 12 months.

Unless otherwise stated you must be at least 18 years old, and if requested to do so, provide proof of your age.

You must provide personal details as reasonably requested to do so by Pirate FM. Refusal to comply will result in disqualification from the contest.

3. Health and Safety

By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you confirm and warrant that to the best of your knowledge your general state of health is good and you have no medical condition that could be adversely affected by strenuous exercise or any of the events or activities planned or reasonably expected to be involved in the competition.

You agree to co-operate and comply with all reasonable requests of Pirate FM and its agents and employees (in particular with respect to health and safety) in connection with the competition and its broadcast.

You must take all reasonable steps to ensure your own health and safety. Any conduct or behaviour, act or conduct by you that Pirate FM considers to pose any medical, security or safety risk will lead to your immediate disqualification (including without limitation, any abusive behaviour, physical or verbal).

All activities are undertaken at your own risk. You must notify Pirate FM of any medical or other condition which may mean that you are unfit for travel or participation in the Contest as soon as you become aware of such a condition. Pirate FM reserves the right to forfeit your place in the Contest or the Prize (without liability or compensation) if, in its opinion, you may expose yourself or others to risk of illness or injury, or to the cancellation, disruption or curtailment of the contest.

You confirm you are not taking any medication (excluding prescribed) and will not do so during the contest.

4. Prizes

All prizes must be collected within three months from the date of winning. After that time, unclaimed prizes will be deemed null and void. Pirate FM will not notify winners of the time remaining. It is the sole responsibility of winners to collect their prize.

Prizes must be collected in person unless otherwise advised by UKRD. Identification that includes a photograph (driver's licence, passport, student card) will be required. Where prizes are posted out, Pirate FM accepts no liability for the safe and effective postal delivery of a prize.

In certain situations, and subject to the absolute discretion of Pirate FM, a winner may nominate a designated representative to collect the prize. The representative will be asked to provide written authorisation from the winner and identification for both the winner and the representative.

Winners under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.
