Music: Cornwall’s Pirate FM plays a melodic adult contemporary style of music which allows us to play “Real Music Variety”. There are categories that represent music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and the 2000 decades, as well as recurrent songs and the latest ‘playlisted’ music which highlights the best music of today – this takes the form of an A, B and C list with the A list being the highest rotated.

An example of a workday hour follows:

Song 1 Jamiroquai - Canned Heat

Song 2 Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah

Song 3 George Benson - Give Me The Night

Song 4 Jack Johnson - Upside Down

Song 5 Poison - Every Rose Has It's Thorn

Song 6 Mika - Happy Ending

Song 7 Westlife - Flying Without Wings

Song 8 Simply Red - A New Flame

Song 9 Alicia Keys - No One

Song 10 Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama

Song 11 Whitney Houston - Step By Step

Pirate FM Music Jury: Cornwall’s Pirate FM recognises that playing the favourite music of our listeners is paramount to the success of our Real Music Variety promise. For this reason, we have a Music Jury to which listeners can join via the website www.piratefm.co.uk . On a regular basis, listeners who have signed up will be invited by an email to take part in a music survey where they get to hear the ‘hooks’ of a selection of songs. A member of the jury has the chance to say whether it is a song they love, like or dislike and are also asked as to whether they feel the songs are heard too much or too little. We react accordingly by using this data to decide whether certain songs should be played or not, or whether their rotation should be reduced, or indeed in some instances, increased.

No Repeat 9 to 5 workday: Cornwall’s Pirate FM plays Real Music Variety on a no repeat 9 to 5 Workday. From Monday to Friday between 9 and 5, you won’t hear the same song twice.
