Tristan Hunkin (News Editor)

It is a return to Cornwall for Tristan. Having studied in Falmouth and worked at Pirate FM way back in 1998 he jumped at the chance of relocating from the windswept moors of North Yorkshire to the sunnier climes of the Duchy.

Over the last twelve years Tristan has worked at a dozen stations across Britain, from York to Chichester. He is now heading up our team of journalists to ensure when news breaks in Cornwall, you hear it here first.

He is a Shakespeare nut and part-time punctuation obsessive, meaning; he will: love? What we"ve done here…

He spends his spare time convincing Keira Knightley to become the next Mrs Hunkin. And avoiding her security people.

If you have a story you reckon we ought to be talking about, let us know.

Matthew Clarke (Deputy News Editor)

I have been with UKRD since 1997 and with Pirate since 1998. I trained as a journalist at Falmouth College of Arts and worked at radio stations across the country.

I also worked for a couple of years at EMI Records UK Ltd in Manchester Square in London. I remember Blur being signed, and lobbing snowballs through the windows. I also recall the Red Hot Chilli Peppers running around the building naked, and helping Yasmin Le Bon (wife of Simon of Duran Duran) into the lift with her new baby. I will also never forget coming out of the building one lunchtime and bumping into the Beatles` producer George Martin.

When not bringing Cornwall the latest news, I perform with my bands Krena, Towan and Skwardya (song downloads and info on CDs) and take part in a wide variety of Cornish cultural events.

Krena represented Cornwall in the PanCeltic song contest in Ireland in 2005... and WON. You can also check it out on www.myspace.com/krenacornwall

I also love tennis (playing and watching) and am currently a 4th kyu (Purple belt) in Karate.

Emma Carton (Senior Journalist)

Hello my name is Emma.  Aside from working at Pirate FM, I spend a lot of my spare time at the beach, when it is not windy because it messes up my hair (just kidding, I am not really that high maintenance).

Having spent most of my life living in a city,  it is great to breathe in the lovely fresh air in Cornwall.

I like watching Friends whist eating a big tub of Haagen Dazs Cookies and Cream Ice Cream, eating out at all the great fish restaurants and partying (occasionally).

My favourite place in Cornwall is Porthcurno Beach by the Minack because I have never seen water quite that colour before... it is like being in the Carribean.
